Deathless Spirit (3): Members of this race gain a resistance 5 against negative energy damage. They do not lose hit points when they gain a negative level, and they gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against death effects, energy drain, negative energy, and spells or spell-like abilities of the necromancy school.
Nightmares (-2): Each night, you suffer from terrible nightmares, a sign that your suppressed undead essence is struggling to resurface when you are most vulnerable. During your rest you are immediately attacked by some undead monster that lurks within your mind. However, once somebody gains your attention, these phantoms immediately vanish and so do all of your wounds. Your rest is then interrupted, and you must attempt to fall back to sleep, terrified of what may await you when you do. If you are not awoken from these terrors, it lasts until it is defeated or you are. Once either of these things happen, you finally return to reality. To represent this inner turmoil, each night during your rest you must make a Will save, DC equal to 10 + 1/2 ECL. The GM makes a check opposing yours. If the GM beats your Will roll, that means you were defeated in your dream. If you succeed your Will save, upon waking up you can shake off the feelings for another night and nothing happens. If you fail and you were awoken by an ally in the middle of the night or you defeated the monster in your dreams, you wake up only fatigued and shaken, both for 1d4 +1 hours. If you were defeated in your dream you take 1d4 +1 points of damage and do not heal any damage naturally that night, on top of the fatigue and shaken conditions.
